Sagad Sa Sagada.

So, After two years I went again to Sagada. This time I have to pay for all the expenses, the first one was an all expenses paid trip by the kind, Martinez.

The trip was planned by my former officemates in Accenture months ago.

We meet at the The Fort because most of the kids are now working there which was a little difficult with me since I was sick since Thursday (I was kinda thinking of getting sick in order for me to skip work since we will be in the mountains starting Friday).

We arrive last Friday at around 10am, since most of us has no breakfast, we ate at Salt n Pepper which was so expensive for most of us the serve mediocre food. After two hours of resting (sleep) we were awaken by our tour guide.

The first order of business was the Cave Connection from Lumiang Cave to Sumaguing Cave. It was a six- hours of spelunking, going to small holes. It was unfortunate that I got hurt on the first hour of the Cave Connection which made me so slow to do the climbing, crawling, etc.

After the Cave Connection, we went again to Residential Lodge (our accommodation for the next three days). I decided to skip dinner since I dont have anymore energy to walk a couple of blocks to go again to Salt and Pepper and I was sick again, good thing that they bought me cup noodles and I was able to speak with some of the guest at the Inn, which was teachers on a excursion tour (lucky teachers).

The second day was spent going to Pongas Falls - for me this was the highlight of the trip. I totally enjoyed sitting on the bottom of the falls and letting the current go over my body. The hour trek was totally worth it a midst the heat of the sun. We also ate at Lemon Pie house which was good and the servings are good for two people and you’re getting your money’s worth.

We were supposedly going to three more sites during that day but it rain so hard so we just stayed at the Lodge after going to the Gunduyan Museum which was just a house near the Municipal Hall. The lady there talked about the culture too fast that I did not get what she was saying. The kids cooked our lunch of eggs, luncheon meat and corned beef. (If you’re going to Sagada and trying to save money, I suggest that you bring food and just cook by yourselves).

On our last day, we woke early like 430am early to catch the sunrise at some view point, the name escapes me right now. The sunrise was uneventful since it was cloudy that morning. We also went to Echo Valley and the church there (St Mary’s?).

I think this will be the last stop of my summer sojourn, I hope I can travel again to different places. The last three months was very eventful. I climb three mountains, went to six provinces and gained a few acquaintances along the way.
